Harish Rao comes to the rescue Covid-hit family

Siddipet: Finance Minister T Harish Rao has come to the rescue of a family in the city of Siddipet who were living in dire circumstances after the sole breadwinner conceded Covid-19 On 26 May. With the landlord of the rental house, they refused to allow them into the house, for fear that the virus would spread to others. Sujatha, the widow and her two minor children have been living in a small space in front of a shop in Srirama Kunta colony ever since.

Kothaval Srinivas, 45, a resident of the city of Siddipet, had previously worked as a barber. He tested positive for Covid-19 and succumbed to the disease.

When Harish Rao became aware of the family’s situation on Saturday, he instructed local officials to immediately award a double room house to Sujatha. Through the support of the mother and her children, the Minister comforted them telephonically. As immediate relief, Rao also asked the officials to give them cash and all the necessities for a month.

Siddipet Thasildar Vijay and other officials moved the family to a double room house in KCR Nagar, where the government built 2,460 2-BHK houses. The Tahsildar said they had allocated a home to the family in the 127th block of the colony. Sujatha’s son Ruchit and daughter Deeksha study in 9th and 6th grades at a local school, respectively.

The family thanked Harish Rao for his immediate response. The chairman of the agricultural market, Pala Sairam, councilors Nayni Chandram, Deepthi Nagaraj, deputy Thesildar Yella Reddy, comforted the family members. They asked them to call them if they needed help.
