Driver arrested after crashing vehicle into Kimball grocery store

A 53-year-old female was arrested after her vehicle crashed into Vinckier Foods in Kimball Township Saturday afternoon.

The vehicle struck south wall of the building, knocking down some of the blocks of the building, said St. Clair County Sheriff Lt. Eric Stevens. A parked vehicle also was struck.

Stevens said deputies arrested the driver after finding her to be intoxicated.

Vinckier Foods and Wadhams Pharmacy, which are both in the same building, are both open.

The sheriff department was assisted on the scene by Kimball Township Fire Department, Tri-Hospital EMS and Preferred Towing.
