India on Sunday has witnessed 1,65,553 fresh coronavirus cases, which the lowest since the last 46 days. The country’s death toll has also dropped with 3,460 covid related in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest since May 3.
Health Ministry on Saturday reported India’s Covid tally stands at 2,78,94,800 with 1,73,790 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, 2,76,309 Covid-19 positive patients have recovered on Sunday, taking the total number of recovered cases to 2,54,54,320. The country’s active Covid cases reaches at 1,14,216 in the last 24 hours.
There are few worst-hit states in the country by Covid including Kerala which has reported 23,513 fresh covid cases in the last 24 hours followed by Tamil Nadu with 30,016 cases, Maharashtra with 20,295 cases, Karnataka with 20,628 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 13,756 cases. Tamil Nadu is the only state that has witnessed rising Covid cases.
832 people have lost their life due to Covid related complications followed by Karnataka with 492 average daily covid related deaths.
India is one of the worst-hit countries by Covid-19. The country has faced many deaths in the last 45 days. India has crossed the peak of the Covid-19 second wave after hitting it on May 8 when a staggering 3,91,263 new cases were reported. In terms of daily deaths, the country has faced it the most on May 18 with 4,529 people had lost their life the battle against Covid-19.
To break the Covid infection chain, States like Delhi, Kerala, Meghalaya, Puducherry and Mizoram on Saturday decided to extend lockdown to control Covid situations. Meanwhile, Delhi Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka decided to ease the covid restrictions.
