In its continuous action against the violators, the city police registered a total of 314 offences of lockdown violations on Saturday taking the total number of offences registered since April 5 to 18,661. Of the total offences registered on Saturday most were of loitering at public places without a valid reason. A total of 115 such offences were registered on Saturday, which was followed by 106 offences registered against shop keepers for flouting the lockdown norms. Amidst the lockdown, the government has allowed shops that fall under the category of essential services to remain open between 7 am to 11 am, however, those shops found violating the time limit and those found open without permission have been booked for violations.

Besides, 61 people have been booked for not wearing mask at public places on Saturday. 12 other cases registered against hawkers, 10 cases of crowding at public places and two cases of illegal transportation registered also on Saturday.

The Mumbai police have also registered two separate cases against hotel owners for flouting the norms and two cases against corona positive patients for violating the quarantine rule also registered on Saturday, apart from this a pan shop owner has also been booked for not following the norms.

Total 56 vehicles have been seized by the on Saturday for not following the norms.
