Marjorie Taylor Greene Attacks Kamala Harris Memorial Day Tweet, Says Dems Hate Veterans
Marjorie Taylor Greene has attacked Vice President Kamala Harris over a tweet urging Americans to "enjoy" the Memorial Day weekend and accused the Democratic Party of hating veterans.
"Enjoy the long weekend," a tweet posted on Harris' government Twitter account on Saturday said, alongside a smiling photo of the vice president.
Greene took issue with Harris's message, and responded with tweets that accused the Democratic Party of hating "our freedom" and "the Veterans who died defending it."
Not one single Veteran gave their life to support your freedom killing Socialist BS.

They served to protect our freedoms and our borders, which you clearly care nothing about since you haven’t been there once, VP Border Czar. https://t.co/642vlBDChu
"Not one single Veteran gave their life to support your freedom killing Socialist BS," the controversial freshman congresswoman from Georgia tweeted in response to Harris.
"They served to protect our freedoms and our borders, which you clearly care nothing about since you haven't been there once, VP Border Czar."
In another tweet, Greene added: "You all should wake up to the FACT this is not an off tweet by @KamalaHarris. Her political consultants did this. It is a reflection of the Democrat party, who hates our freedom. And hates the Veterans who died defending it, so they purposely insult them."

Greene wasn't the only person to criticize the vice president for failing to acknowledge in her tweet that the Memorial Day holiday is to remember the nation's fallen soldiers.
"As the @VP enjoys a long weekend, maybe she could read a couple of books on the sacrifices made by those we honor with this holiday," former Georgia representative Doug Collins tweeted.
Harris made no comment on the criticism, but she later paid tribute to the nation's heroes in a tweet Sunday, writing: "Throughout our history our service men and women have risked everything to defend our freedoms and our country. As we prepare to honor them on Memorial Day, we remember their service and their sacrifice."

Greene's attack on Harris comes after the congresswoman came under fire over her comments comparing mask mandates and COVID safety measures to the persecution suffered by Jews in Nazi Germany
Earlier this week, several Republican leaders condemned Greene's comments but stopped short of calling for her to face disciplinary measures.
"Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling," House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy said in a statement after days of mourning pressure to condemn Greene's comments. "The fact that this needs to be stated today is deeply troubling."

"You know, we can look back in a time and history where people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second-class citizens, so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany," Greene had said in an interview. "This is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about."
Over the course of several days, Greene remained unrepentant and doubled down on the comparison.
The furor prompted a petition calling for McCarthy to expel Greene from Congress to quickly gain steam. As of early Sunday morning, the petition had over 200,000 signatures.
Greene's comparison of mask mandates and COVID safety measures to the Holocaust is "just one of the many different ways she's violated her oath as a member of Congress," David Weissman, a veteran and former Trump supporter who set up the petition, wrote.
Spokespeople for Greene and Harris have been contacted for further comment.
