Mumbaikars woke up to light rain on Sunday morning, bringing much-needed respite from high temperatures. Several parts of South Mumbai on Sunday reported a drizzle.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a partly cloudy sky with possibility of light rain and drizzle throughout the day.

Meanwhile, KS Hosalikar, head SID, Climate Research & Services, IMD Pune, said that Mumbai, Pune, Raigad will witness cloudy weather today.

On Sunday, India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Santacruz observatory recorded the maximum temperature at 34.1 degrees Celsius, while the Colaba observatory recorded a maximum temperature of 34 degrees Celsius. The Santacruz observatory in the western suburbs recorded a minimum temperature of 28.4 degrees Celsius, while the Colaba observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 28 degrees Celsius.

The IMD In its daily weather bulletin issued on Saturday, has predicted thunderstorm with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) would very likely occur at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh, with lightning and gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph) at isolated places over Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, East Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Odisha, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana and Kerala and Mahe on Sunday.

"With lightning at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Konkan and Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Rayalaseema, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal and Lakshadweep. Thunderstorm/Duststorm (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) likely at isolated places over West Rajasthan," IMD predicted for Sunday.
