JAIPUR: A team of drug controllers and legal metrology department on Friday seized 5,353 pulse oximeters, 147 oxygen concentrators, 46 infrared thermometers - amounting to Rs 1 crore - from Jhotwara’s S D Agarwal Telecom Private Limited and R S Enterprises, both owned by Anil Agarwal, for not selling these items at MRP and not mentioning the name and address of the manufacturer and importer on these items, a statement issued by assistant drug controller (Jaipur) Dinesh Kumar Taneja read.
Meanwhile, the drug controller (Jaipur) suspended the licences of 8 medical stores in Jaipur - for 3 to 15 days - for indulging in irregularities and selling medicines meant for Covid treatment, without prescription. The eight medical stores are: Health Mart (Sanganer Road), Namdev Medicos (Mansarovar), Medicine Point (Tilak Nagar), Anil Medical and General Store (Mansarovar), Raj Medical (Gujjar Ki Thadi), Salasar Balaji Medicos (Mansarovar), International Traders (MI Road), Square Medicoz (Durgapura).
In another action, three oxygen concentrators, 65 vaporizers and 225 N-95 masks were seized from a surgical equipment store Solution India (Jhotwara) for black-marketing and selling these items at a price higher than MRP. “A show-cause notice has been served to the store for other irregularities under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act. The licence of the store will be suspended if the reply is not satisfactory,” said Taneja.
