Delhi Covid lockdown news live: DDMA extends curfew on movement of individuals except for essential activities till June 7

Delhi received over 48,000 doses of Covaxin for the 45 plus age group on Saturday, and it will mostly be used for administering second doses since the quantity is less, AAP MLA Atishi said.

Of the total 22,701 containment zones in the national capital, central Delhi accounts for the maximum 6,523 red zones, according to official figures. Delhi had 31,570 containment zones on April 27. The number, due to a significant drop in Covid-19 cases, has now come down to 22,701 -- a decrease of over 28 per cent – by Thursday.

Apollo Hospital in the city claimed to have become the first to administer Roche’s antibody cocktail to a patient with a high risk from Covid-19. The antibody cocktail was administered to a 65-yearold man who responded well and was discharged after an hour of observation. It was administered to patients with mild and moderate Covid and at high risk of developing severe Covid, officials said. Read more

Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Saturday said the city government will receive 5.5 lakh Covid-19 jabs for beneficiaries in the 18-44 age group from the Centre in June. Aam Aadmi Party MLA Raghav Chadha on Friday said while government-run Covid-19 vaccination centres had become non-functional due to shortage of vaccines, the private-run vaccination centres were running at full capacity and had lakhs of vials at their disposal.
