Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday urged the BJP led central government to withdraw the letter of recalling the West Bengal Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay to Delhi by May 31.

“In the wake of the ongoing pandemic and cyclone Yaas I have asked for Alapan’s extension on May 10 and on May 24 I have received an affirmation letter from the central government. I urge them to withdraw the letter of May 28 where Alapan is being asked to go to Delhi. Alapan is a good hand and we need him to safeguard the people of West Bengal,” claimed Mamata, also adding that she is even ready to touch the feet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Asked whether the TMC will move the court, Mamata said that she has heard that the central government had filed a caveat in court and if need be then the TMC government will move the court.

“The BJP cannot accept the landslide victory of the TMC for which they are trying to take revenge from us. Don’t insult me like this. You have tried everything and lost for which you are trying to create unnecessary confusion and confrontation in West Bengal,” alleged Mamata stating that West Bengal Chief Secretary is being heckled as he is Bengali.

“Such an incident is seen for the first time since 1974. This move is an insult to all the chief secretaries across the country. I have announced my schedule long back despite hardships, I have been to Kalaikunda just to show my respect to the Prime Minister,” stated the TMC Supremo adding that the BJP leaders had purposely maligned her on social media yesterday.

Slamming Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Mamata Banerjee said that the meeting between the PM and the CM was transformed into the meeting of Bharatiya Janata Party.

“I was asked to wait for an hour by SPG, then after 15-20 minutes of waiting I entered the meeting room to submit the report as I had to visit Digha. The meeting was of BJP as in that meeting there was no need of the leader of the opposition,” slammed Mamata calling it BJP’s political vendetta.

Countering the claims, Suvendu Adhikari, BJP Nandigram MLA and leader of opposition in West Bengal Assembly said that purposely the TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee had given wrong statements.

“Leader of the opposition of Odisha Pradip Nayak was also called in the meeting but since he is covid positive he couldn’t be present. West Bengal opposition leader in parliament and Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was also called but he being in Delhi couldn’t attend the meet. The TMC supremo has purposely rescheduled her pre-schedule,” slammed Suvendu.
