Hyderabad: Ahead of the second-year exams likely to be held in July, faculty members of junior colleges in Telangana have demanded that it be vaccinated before the start of the Intermediate Public Examination (IPE).
To justify the claim, the president of Telangana Government Junior Colleges Principals Association KS Rama Rao said that many faculty members have contracted coronavirus and some of them even succumbed to COVID-19, Times of India Report.
Apart from vaccination, the members of the faculty also demanded that they should receive additional remuneration for the second second year of examination duty. It is also demanded that in the event of the death of any faculty member due to COVID-19 the family member must receive an ex-gratia of R. 50 lakh.
Prashanth Kumar, one of the faculty members working at a private junior college in Telangana, said the Telangana State Board of Intermediate (TSBIE) should take responsibility for vaccination.
Inter second-year exams have been postponed due to the increase in COVID-19 incidents
The second-year exams would start on May 1, but due to the increase in COVID-19 affairs, the Telangana government decided to postpone it. A few days back it was suggested to take the exam in July.
Recently, TSBIE postponed the practical examination of inter second-year students following the second wave of COVID-19.
Earlier, amid rise in COVID-19 In cases, the government of Telangana not only postponed the second year exam but also canceled the SSC exam and promoted the first year students. SSC students awarded marks based on their achievements in the formative assessment conducted by the schools.
Although there is no clarity on how the exams will be presented between the second year, the council announced earlier that the exams will be written and that the future dates with at least fifteen days notice for the exam will be announced.
