Woman ‘plots’ husband’s murder with lover, 4 held

Noida: Fed up with frequent domestic violence, a woman allegedly plotted the murder of her husband with three men, including her paramour, who executed the crime on the intervening night of May 6-7. All the four have been arrested, police said.
According to police, Sushila (45) who had been married to another man around 20 years ago, left her first husband Lalaram after she met Santram and came to Noida with her five children to stay with him. She subsequently married Santram and the couple started staying in Noida’s Kakrala village in Sector 80.
However, Santram soon started beating her frequently and Sushila developed an ill-will towards him.
A few months ago, she started talking to Manoj (27), who is much younger to her and the two had an affair.
A few days back, Sushila planned her husband’s murder with Manoj and the latter involved his brother Akash and their relative Rajesh in the plan, police said.
On the intervening night of May 6-7, the accused trio knocked on the door of the couple’s house and Sushila opened the door.
The trio entered the house and killed Santram. However, his wife told police that the trio had forcefully entered the house and hit her husband’s head with bricks when he refused to hand over the keys of his bike.
Additional DCP (central Noida) Ankur Aggarwal said that investigators found the woman’s version “suspicious”. “Further probe revealed that Sushila was involved in planning the crime and she had links with Manoj,” he said. All the four have been arrested in connection with the murder, Aggarwal said.
