BHOPAL: Distribution of uniforms in state-run schools took a backseat after the lockdown was imposed. Now, when the MP State Rural Livelihood Mission has reminded the Rajya Shiksha Kendra, the RSK has written to collectors and district education officers to ensure their distribution.

Some schools that received the school uniforms did not reflect it on their portal after which commissioner Rajya Shiksha Kendra issued instructions that district education officers should ensure distribution.

The MP State Rural Livelihood Mission had written to RSK after self-help groups complained that stitched dresses were waiting to be delivered, but the school authorities were not responding.

According to MPSRLM, about 13% of the orders had been delivered but the portal depicted only 2%. It said 100% distribution had been conducted in 6 districts, but this did not reflect.

The letter by the RLM states that 45% (46,448,933) of the uniforms are ready for distribution but only 13% (13,99,813) could be distributed as the schools are shut. Sewing centres statewide have 3,245,080 uniforms waiting to be delivered to schools.
