Gurgaon: The district administration on Thursday brought down the number of large outbreak regions (LOR) from 50 to 17. The last order of the
LOR was issued on May 24 when the administration had brought down the number of LORs from 107 to 50.
UPHC Tigra, which had the maximum number of LORs till earlier this week, has now one LOR. Under UPHC Tigra, there were 14 LOR till Wednesday, which have now been denotified. Of 17, six LOR are under UPHC Firoz Gandhi Colony, three each are under Nathupur and Gandhi Nagar UPHCs. Moreover, UPHC Om Nagar now has two LORs and Tigra, Sukhrali and Madanpura UPHCs have one containment zone each.
“Even though the overall
cases have come down, Chanderlok, Tigra and Wazirabad are still reporting the maximum cases. Out of 187 cases reported on Wednesday, 24 cases were from Tigra, 23 from Chanderlok, 15 from Wazirabad, 11 from Bhangrola, eight from Babdshahpur and 11 from Farukkhnagar,” said Dr Jai Prakash, district surveillance officer.
The health officials said that the department had recommended declaring 17 LORs and de-notifying 33
areas since they completed their containment period of 14 days.
U, V and S block in DLF -3are LORs under UPHC Nathupur. While Sector 10, Sector 10A and Gandhi Nagar are LORs under UPHC Gandhi Nagar, Ransika village in Pataudi has also been declared an LOR under the PHC Mandpura.
With the decline in daily cases of Covid-19, the number of containment zones has also come down gradually in the last one month.
