Badnawar (Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh): Local police have arrested three out of four accused for killing a man for for Rs 11 lakh.
The case pertains to a body found from the gorge in the jungle of Jamuniya Naka village in Dhar district's Badnawar tehsil on May 24. The police arrested 3 accused and seized a Toofan car from the site the next day.
Police station incharge CB Singh told reporters on May 26 that two Toofan and an Ertiga care were sold by the victim. Police station incharge said in the afternoon of May 24, the body of an unknown person was found in a 300-metre deep gorge near village Jamunia Naka on Kanvan Bhainsola Road.
During investigation, a labourer told police that four to five people dragged out body from a car and threw it into the gorge.
On the pants of victim was written - Khachrod. With this clue, the police was able to identify victim as Surendra Singh Jadhav, resident of Badagaon through tailor Vijay Chawda.
The tailor told police that he is native of Badagaon but lives in Khachrod where he runs a samosa and kachori shop in partnership with Premdas Bairagi, resident of Khachrod (Ujjain district).
Brother of the deceased Bablu Singh told the police that Surendra used to give Ertiga and a Toofan cars on rent. Surendra's friend Ramgopal Sen, who stayed at Bairagi’s house in a separate room, was into transport business and bought both his cars for Rs 19 lakh. As per the agreement, Rs 8 lakh were to be paid to him through bank finance and remaining Rs 11 lakh were to be paid on May 24.
On May 24, accused Sen came with money by Toofan car and the victim told Bairagi that he was going with him and will deposit the money in the bank.
As per their plan, other accused Deepak, 21, Shubham 18 and Latif, 18, joined Ramgopal Sen in the car at Madawada Fata. In a deserted area near Madawada Fata, the red chilli powder was put into his eyes. The accused tried to strangulate him with a rope but they were unable to control him. So, Latif hit the head of Surendra hard with an iron wrench and Shubham assaulted him with an iron rod, which led to his death.
Based on the statements of the witnesses, the police registered a case against the four accused and seized Toofan car number (MP 13 BA 3325) and rods used in the crime. Accused Latif is on the run.
