Stock market movers: Top 10 winners and losers on BSE, NSE on May 28

The 30-share BSE index ended 307.66 points or 0.60 percent higher at 51,422.88. The broader NSE Nifty surged 97.80 points or 0.64 percent to close at its fresh peak of 15,435.65.

Reliance Industries was the top gainer in the Sensex pack, soaring nearly 6 percent, followed by M&M, HDFC twins, Kotak Bank, ITC and Bharti Airtel. Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finserv, ICICI Bank and Dr Reddy’s were among the laggards.

The Indian benchmark equity indices ended higher on May 28 with Nifty starting June F&O series on strong note, said Deepak Jasani, Head-Retail Research, HDFC Securities. In the process it formed an all time high and all time closing high. Nifty opened higher with an up-gap and went zigzag through the day before closing below the intra day high.

Volumes on the NSE were a little below recent averages. Among sectors, Oil and Gas rose the most with Reliance contributing the most, while Power and Healthcare fell the most. BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices ended marginally lower, Jasani added.

Sensex Gainers

Reliance: The stock was the top winner in the Sensex pack. It touched an intra day high of Rs 2105 before closing at Rs 2094.90, up 116.70 points or 5.90 percent.
M&M: The stock touched an intra day high if Rs 852.50 before closing at Rs 846.20, up 17.65 points or 2.13 percent.
HDFC Bank: The stock touched an intra day high of Rs 1513 before closing at Rs 1501.15, up 21.75 points or 1.47 percent.
HDFC: The stock touched an intra day high of Rs 2549.95 before closing at Rs 2541.40, up 34.40 points or 1.37 percent.
Kotak Bank: The stock touched an intra day high of Rs 1812.80 before closing at Rs 1800.10, up 21.85 points or 1.23 percent.

Sensex Losers

Sun Pharma: The stock was the top loser in the Sensex pack. It touched an intra day low of Rs 666.55 before closing at Rs 669.65, down 30.10 points or 4.30 percent.
Bajaj Finserv: The stock touched an intra day low if Rs 11679.90 before closing at Rs 11686.20, down 197.45 points or 1.66 percent.
Nestle Ind: The stock touched an intra day low of Rs 17475.95 before closing at Rs 17507.60, down 264.95 points or 1.49 percent.
ICICI Bank: The stock touched an intra day low of Rs 639.35 before closing at Rs 643.20, down 9.50 points or 1.46 percent.
Axis Bank: The stock touched an intra day low of Rs 738.35 before closing at Rs 739.95, down 10.30 points or 1.37 percent.

Nifty50 gainers

Reliance Industries Limited: The top gainer in Nifty50. The stock touched an intra-day high of Rs 2,173.70 per piece before closing at Rs 2,094.45 per piece, 118.35 points up or 5.99 percent.
Grasim: It touched an intraday high of Rs 1,558.85 to close at Rs 1,465, up 47.85 points or 3.38 percent.
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone: The stock touched intraday high of Rs 826.50 to close at Rs 777, up 25.60 points or 3.41 percent.
Mahindra & Mahindra: The stock touched an intraday high of Rs 911.45 before closing at Rs 847 per piece, up 18.40 points or 2.22 percent.
HDFC Bank: It touched an intra-day high of Rs 1,630.90 to close at Rs 1,507.75, up 25.10 points or 1.69 percent up.

Nifty50 losers

Sun Pharmaceuticals: It is the top loser in the Nifty50. It touched an intra-day low of Rs 629.55 to close at Rs 672.65 per share, down 26.85 points or 3.84 percent.
Shree Cement: It touched an intra-day low of Rs 25,259.45 per piece to close at Rs 27,599 per share, down 467.05 points or 1.66 percent.
Axis Bank: It touched an intra-day low of Rs 675.35 per share to close at Rs 743.50, down by 6.85 points or 0.91 percent.
Bajaj Finserv: The stock touched an intra-day low of Rs 10,699.95 per share to close Rs 11,725 per share, down 163.80 points or 1.38 percent.
Power Grid: The stock touched an intra-day low of Rs 205.50 per share to close at Rs 226, down 2.30 points or 1.01 percent.
