Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on Friday announced that vaccination centres will be set up for students who are bound for foreign universities, starting Monday.
Students in the age group of 18-44 years can walk in at the three designated COVID-19 vaccination centres and get the jab free of cost on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The civic body has chosen Cooper Hospital, Rajawadi Hospital and Kasturba Hospital for the vaccination drive.
Only those students with a valid admission confirmation letter from their respective universities, foreign visa or form for visa from their universities, are eligible to get the
vaccine.
Besides, those above the age of 45 years can walk in on these days to take their first or second dose of Covishield. Frontline workers due for their second dose of Covishield, beneficiaries due for their second dose of Covaxin and lactating mothers can also get themselves inoculated for free at the civic body's vaccine centres.
On Thursday, Friday and Saturday, people can avail the jab only by registering themselves on the CoWIN app. No walk-in requests will be entertained on these days.
The vaccination drive will remain closed in the city on Sunday.
