Man Reunites with Stolen Dog in Emotional Video after Four-Day Search
A man's emotional reunion with his stolen dog was captured in a heartwarming video after the pair were reunited with the help of social media.
Aaron Morris was the victim of a car theft in North Carolina on May 21, when his vehicle was stolen at a gas station.
Morris had just moved from Michigan and many of his personal belongings were in the car at the time—including his medication, and more importantly, his dog Jolene.
The car had been left running so the air conditioning could stay on for the Labrador and Pitbull mix, while Morris quickly went into a store.
A "person of interest" was captured on CCTV following Morris and his car beforehand.
Morris shared a post to his Facebook following the incident, writing: "People in the North Carolina area keep an eye out, and Tennessee area, my poor little girl and my uncle's car were stolen. The car's a 2007 dark blue buick lucerne. They stole my phone, most of my belongings and my baby girl. I'm sure my uncle can agree, we just want the puppy back."
In the following days, Morris updated his Facebook with frequent posts about his search, and even offered a $1500 reward for the dog and no questions asked upon her return.
Four days later, on May 25, Tennessee animal shelter Morristown Hamblen Humane Society shared a post seeking for the owner of Jolene. Morris' phone had been stolen with the car, meaning the number on her collar was unable to be reached.
"Stray female named Jolene was brought in from Springvale Road. We have been unable to contact anyone at the number on her tag," read the post along with pictures of the dog.
With the power of social media, the dots were soon connected and Jolene was able to be found.
"I'm forever in debt to society and forever thankful. My world will become peaceful tomorrow. God bless all of you, thank you from the bottom of my heart," wrote Morris in a Facebook post.

The moment Morris and Jolene were reunited was captured in an emotional video, which has since gone viral.
Morris shared the clip to his Facebook page and can be seen embracing Jolene at the door of the dog shelter. Jolene, who is clearly just as happy as Morris, literally climbs into his arms, unable to keep still.
After being discovered by Reddit, the post has been voted on 40,000 times in less than seven hours.
According to Morris, police found his car submerged in a river in Cocke County, Tennessee, but the perpetrator has not yet been found.
