Portuguese regulator urges replacement of underwater cables to islands

The president of Portugal's National Communications Authority (Anacom), Joao Cadete de Matos, has underlined the urgent implementation of the project to replace underwater electronic communication cables between the mainland, the Azores and Madeira. He said the new connections should be established by 2024 to avoid the risk of disrupting communications in Portugal, reports Jornal de Negocios.
