Hyderabad: A petition has been filed in the High Court in Telangana in which the jurists are exempt from restrictions to lock up.
The Supreme Court is hearing the petition filed by attorney Jayant Jayasurya. The petitioner told the HC that the attorneys in other states were exempt from restrictions on the closure.
The petitioner said in his petition that the lawyers in Hyderabad city are experiencing major problems due to the closure restrictions.
He asked the Supreme Court to issue instructions to the police not to create barriers in the journey of the lawyers as their offices are located away from their homes.
The HK instructed the Attorney General to judge the police officers on the rulings of the High Court.
However, the attorney general sought time and told the high court that he would notify Secretary-General Somesh Kumar. The Supreme Court ordered the Attorney General to include the general secretary as respondent as well.
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court has told the petitioner to wait until the government responds.
The court presented the case on May 31, 2021.
