With a dip in Covid-19 cases, the GMCH-32 has decided to close some of the Covid wards in a gradual manner. “No new Covid patient will be sent to the Sector 48 hospital unless all beds in Covid wards and ICUs are full on the GMCH-32 campus. The Sector 32 campus will keep a buffer of 10 beds to take care of emergencies,” said Yashpal Garg, nodal officer for Covid management at the GMCH-32.
He said in this way, initially one wing in the next few days and then the entire hospital in Sector 48 may be closed down in the next 10 to 15 days for Covid patients. Sood Dharamshala, and Dhanwantri Hospital have been vacated and doctors and paramedical staff have been recalled from both premises and deputed at the GMCH. — TNS
