Rs 5.5 crore sports complex to come up in Bhuj town

Rajkot: A sports complex will be built at the cost of Rs 5.5 crore in Bhuj town of Kutch district. A decision in this regard was taken by Bhuj Area Development Authority (BADA) on Thursday during its board meeting. The BADA meeting was chaired by Kutch district collector Praveena D K.
The sports complex will come upon 2.80-acre land.
According to a statement issued by BADA, the design of the sports complex will be prepared by the Kutch Association of Civil Engineers and Architects (CACEA) on pro bono basis. It will include facilities for indoor games like badminton, table tennis, board games. Besides this, there will be separate courts for games like basketball, volleyball and other games. The complex will also house a swimming pool, yoga centre, gym and other facilities.
BADA is also developing a dedicated study cum reading centre at the cost of Rs 2.65 crore for the students who are preparing for competitive exams near the sports complex. “BADA has initiated the coordination with roads and building department to commence the tendering process,” the statement further said.
