The Excise and Taxation Department has suspended its inspector, Mandeep Singh, posted at the authorised bottling plant at Badal village for alleged negligence in keeping a vigil over its functioning.

“Since a large number of bottles of Royal Shot, Blue Legacy and Big Barrel brands were found without bearing holograms from some rooms located in an orchard at Badal village on Saturday, the Inspector has been placed under suspension. Even the CCTV cameras of the authorised bottling plant had remained non-functional on some days in the recent past, which is mandatory for such plants,” said a source — TNS
