CHENNAI: The Greater Chennai Corporation has vaccinated 60% of the 22 lakh people above the age of 45 years thus far (first dose), said corporation commissioner said Gagandeep Singh Bedi on Friday. He said this is one of the highest among all metropolitan cities in the country. The corporation has already released details of vaccination centres on its website. After a lull, vaccination in Chennai picked up pace this week. As compared to a weekly average of around 1.1 lakh the GCC vaccinated 1.55 lakh in the last seven days. The GCC has been conducting a number of camps across the city for the past 10 days. Apart from this, the GCC has also been conducting door-to- door vaccinations for disabled people in the city. Disabled people or their caregivers can call on helpline numbers 18004250111 and 9700799993 to get a slot for vaccination.
