2022 Morgan Plus Four and Plus Six updates revealed

Detail updates and a new roof design are the highlights of Morgan’s 2022 model range changes

Morgan has updated both its Plus Four and Plus Six roadsters with a subtle collection of refinements for the 2022 model year. All new orders from now on will feature the changes, which Morgan says have been driven by both customer and media feedback.

This is highlighted to start with by a new optional sports exhaust system, which rather than making the standard exhaust louder, actually offers a quieter mode for suburban driving. The valved system is available with two different exhaust pipe finishers, and is activated through the drive modes rather than a dedicated switch.

Also new for the MY22 range – and something we’ve felt was needed – are new seats, which improve lateral support in corners. There are two seat options available, comfort and comfort plus, the latter including pneumatic bolsters that inflate when Sport mode is selected. The comfort plus seats are standard on the more powerful Plus Six, and optional on the lesser Plus Four where the comfort seats are otherwise fitted.

Morgan has introduced a whole new roof mechanism on both models, reducing the complexity of the raising and lowering process, as well as improving insulation to boost interior refinement. The previous model’s fiddly windscreen fasteners have also gone – a welcome improvement.

Finally, there are some other new additions inside the cabin and out, including the fitment of a dual-USB connector, in addition to the previous Bluetooth connection, improved interior lighting and a headlight delay when the ignition is switched off at night. Outside, subtle trim changes like the option of a black lower grille have also been added to the options list.

The MY22 is available from Morgan dealerships now, with all subsequent orders currently in the system also due to pick up the enhancements. Prices have not been affected.
