- Namibia's president and first lady are isolating after they tested positive for Covid-19.

Namibian President Hage Geingob and First Lady Monica Geingob have tested positive for Covid-19, the Namibian presidency said in a statement on Thursday.
They were informed of their results on Wednesday evening.
"The president and the first lady are in good spirits and self-isolating at their residence," the presidency said.
Namibia has recorded 53 603 Covid-19 cases since the start of the pandemic and 789 deaths, according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.
Namibia has administered nearly 68 000 vaccines, covering just over 3% of the population, according to the Africa CDC. Namibia's vaccine rollout began in March, with the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines.
The Russian-manufactured Sputnik V vaccine has also been approved.
The number of active cases in that country has seen a steady climb in recent days, going above 3 000 this week, according to Namibia's Ministry of Health and Social Services.
The health ministry has warned citizens to comply with measures, such as social distancing and mask-wearing, especially as the winter months approach.
Earlier this month, Namibian authorities announced that the B1.351 variant, first discovered in South Africa, and the B1.1.7 variant, first discovered in the United Kingdom, were also present in Namibia.
