The French Open unveiled a statue of tennis great Rafael Nadal at Roland Garros days before the 13-time French Open winner began his bid for a 14th title at his favourite grand slam.
On Thursday, the tournament's official Twitter account revealed a picture of the statue that's immortlised the 34-year-old Spaniard.
Nadal has only ever lost two matches at the French Open, to Robin Soderling in the fourth round in 2009 and in 2015 to arch rival Novak Djokovic in the quarterfinals.
His record 13 French Open titles are the most by a single player in one tournament in the sport's history, while he is tied with Roger Federer for the most men's grand slam titles with 20.
