I have incredible difficulty getting shredded with this body type. I keep leaning down and losing weight, but my belly fat doesn’t go anywhere. It definitely protrudes from my abdomen and when I totally relax it is absolutely fat. Back when I played college football I was close to 190 lbs in body weight but my body fat % was definitely not where it needed to be. Now I train in martial arts and if I want to compete it goes by weight classes and now I am down to 172 pounds but with a 16.8 body fat percentage. If I'm going to compete I need to get down to under 14% body fat and around 164 lbs which sucks because with a shirt on I will just look like a really frail skinny guy.
The other issue with this body type is that I'm skinny, but a bit “doughy” as well. By contrast, ectomorph’s who like to complain look lean year-round. All they need are some defined muscles and they’ll look better than me within a few months. Also, I can eat and train properly for several years and make very minimal muscle gains as an endomorph hard gainer. My wrists and ankles bones are very skinny and just are not genetically capable of carrying large muscle mass.
I obviously do not have professional athlete genetics because they are walking around at 190ish pounds with under 14% body fat easily. Just a horrible realization I am having :/.
