Telefonica Peru JV connects over 2 mln people to 4G in 2 years

Movistar Peru (Telefonica) said its "Internet para todos" (IPT) initiative with Facebook, BID Invest and CAF has successfully connected more than 2.1 million Peruvians in over 12,000 previously unserved communities since officially launching as a rural mobile infrastructure operator (OIMR) two years ago. Its aim is to increase that figure to 2.3 million people in 13,000 communities in mainly coastal, mountain and jungle regions by the end of the year.
