The Ministry of AYUSH, in collaboration with Matrubhumi Seva Pratisthan, will distribute ‘AYUSH-64’ medicine to home quarantined COVID-19 patients, from May 28, at Paryatan Bhavan, Patto-Panaji.

The Union Minister of State for Defence Shripad Naik and the Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will launch this distribution campaign in Goa.

The Union Ministry of AYUSH has taken up several initiatives to make people understand the role of AYUSH interventions in prevention and management of COVID-19 through interdisciplinary consultations.

A multi-centre trial to evaluate the safety and efficacy of ‘AYUSH- 64’ in the management of asymptomatic, mild and moderate COVID-19 patients, taken up by the Ministry jointly with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), has showed encouraging results, as adjunct to standard care.

Based on this outcome, the Ministry has launched a nationwide campaign to distribute this ayurvedic medicine for the benefit of home quarantined COVID-19 patients.

In Goa, the Regional Ayurveda Research Institute for Mineral and Marine Medicinal Resources, CCRAS Goa is providing ‘AYUSYH- 64’ tablets, free of cost to home quarantine COVID-19 patients through one of its office at Paryatan Bhavan, on working days, from 10 am to 5 pm.

The medicine will be issued to the representative of the patient on producing Aadhar card and COVID RTPCR/ rapid test positive report, and HRCT chest report within 7 days of testing.
