Asifabad: An elderly man with a different skill died of hunger and dehydration in Sirpur (T)’s mandal center on Thursday.
According to Sirpur (T)’s sub-inspector Ravi Kumar, the deceased, Pujari Mallesh (65), is single and a native of a mandal headquarters.
Mallesh’s decomposed body was spotted in his home by some workers smelling a bad odor while doing construction work. Police suspect he died of starvation and dehydration about two days back. He lived alone and had no one to look after him, resulting in death, police said.
Mallesh and his wife were reportedly divorced about 30 years ago. His wife now lives in Maharashtra. His two sons have died in the past.
