Hyderabad, May 27 (UNI) To assist local state governments in the fight against Coronavirus, Hyderabad-based Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL), which is helping several states, is establishing more than 3000-beds facilities in government hospitals in Tamil Nadu alone.
Besides vital equipment, the engineering major established these beds in hospitals that have oxygen facilities and will serve the medical staff of the state government.
With the MEIL’s initiative, the state government is providing treatment to the patients free of cost.
It has already set up a 500-beds facility in the temple town Madurai in a record time of 72-hours, the company said in a release here.
While Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin is directly supervising the programme, the entire state machinery, Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI) and G Square Realtors are taking part in this noble endeavor.
Mr Stalin inaugurated 500 scalable oxygenated bed facilities at the Government Hospital, Thoppur, in Madurai recently.
In addition to installing 1070 beds facility with oxygen availability in several hospitals on a war-footing in Greater Chennai, MEIL is also establishing on a fast track mode 200-beds each at Vellore, Erode and Ayyapakam, 100 beds each in Ambur, Nattaram Valli, Meishwaram, Vaniyambadi, Vallajh and 50 beds in Sholingar.
So far, it had already installed 660-bed facilities in four government hospitals while under progress of 1530 beds facilities in 12 hospitals and plans to establish 970 beds facilities in seven government hospitals.
It has supplied Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) and created infrastructure facilities for hospitals.
In coordination with CREDAI Tamil Nadu and G Square Realtors, MEIL established a Covid facility with Oxygen availability in various places in Tamil Nadu, including Madurai.
About 200 oxygen beds made available for immediate requirement while the remaining will be available in the next few days, the release added.
