Maharashtra records max temp

Pune, May 27 (UNI) The highest maximum temperature of 43.4°C was reported at Brahmapuri (Vidarbha) over the plains of the country.
Southwest monsoon on Thursday further advanced into some more parts of Maldives-Comorin area, southwest and eastcentral Bay of Bengal, most parts of southeast Bay of Bengal and some parts of westcentral Bay of Bengal.

Day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam.
They were markedly below normal (-5.1°C or less) at most places over Odisha and Jharkhand; at many places over Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar; at a few places over Chhattisgarh; at isolated places over east Uttar Pradesh and east Madhya Pradesh; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) at many places over Kerala, Mahe and Lakshadweep; at a few places over Gujarat Region; at isolated places over Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) at most places over north interior Karnataka; many places over south interior Karnataka; at a few places over Andaman, Nicobar Islands, west Madhya Pradesh and Madhya Maharashtra; at isolated places over east Rajasthan and near normal over rest parts of the country.
Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST today) at isolated places over west Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, Bihar, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Odisha, coastal Karnataka and Lakshadweep and at a few places in Konkan and Goa and Rayalseema and at isolated places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, east Uttar Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu and interior Karnataka.
Mainly dry weather prevailed in west Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, east Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state and Marathwada.
