With 36-year old veteran Bulls flyhalf Morne Steyn turning in outstanding performances week in and week out for his franchise, he received another accolade this week, this time from All Black legend, Jeff Wilson.
Speaking on the rugby talk show, "The Breakdown", Wilson named Steyn in his five-greatest Super Rugby players of all time.
Wilson acknowledged that there were other brilliant players that have played in the Super Rugby competition since its inception in 1996 but that his selections, which included four flyhalves, had often been the catalyst to their teams titles.
"I'm not ignoring every other position, I think it just emphasises more and more the fact how critical it is that if you want to have success at every level then you need a top flyhalf, hence why they're in demand," he said.
Speaking of Steyn, Wilson called him "a fantastic Bulls five-eighth (flyhalf) when they went through their era, winning three titles".
Steyn has played 129 times for the Bulls in Super Rugby and 66 times for the Springboks.
