BENGALURU: The state has informed the
Centre that II PU exams are being planned for July 2021, while favouring plan B of
CBSE.
The Centre had asked states to give in writing their view on CBSE exams.
Karnataka said plan B was plausible. According to plan B, exams will be held in the same school where students are enrolled, and each
exam will be for a 90-minute duration, will comprise multiple-option types and only in 19 major subjects.
Students must appear only for one language and three electives. Exams will be conducted twice –– July 15 to August 1, and August 5 to 26.
“Pattern of exam and reduction of subjects to be attempted by students are being deliberated upon by the state after the meeting on Sunday,” said the department of PU education. The
PU department has completed pre-exam work and, hence, changing the pattern of exams will be difficult. Students will be put under stress if the exam pattern is changed now, it said.
