LUDHIANA:
Khanna police has arrested a drug peddler of Delhi after it recovered 1kg of heroin from his possession.
The accused was identified as Gaurav of Mansa park in New Delhi.
Giving details on Wednesday,
SSP Khanna Gursharandeep Singh Grewal said that
Khanna Police has started a special campaign against drug trafficking and during this campaign a
police party had setup a check post in the front of FCI Godown, on G.T. road at Doraha on Tuesday.
He added that during checking, police party stopped a Taxi car Honda Mobilio bearing registration number DL-10-CG-8695 coming from Khanna side and on being asked, the taxi driver identified himself as Pritpal Singh of Sardar Colony in Rohini at Delhi and the person sitting on back seat who hired the taxi was identified as Gaurav.
Police officer said that during checking 1kg of heroin was recovered from the possession of the accused. He added that case under sections of
NDPS was registered against the accused and he was arrested into the matter at Doraha police station.
SSP said that during initial, investigation and questioning of Accused Gaurav it has come to light that he had borrowed this taxi from Delhi Bypass to Zira (
Punjab) in Rs 5000 and he got this consignment of heroin from a Nigerian Person living at Delhi and was going to supply the same to some person of Zira. He added that the culprit is still being questioning and during police remand, there is a possibility of major disclosures that from where he had brought this consignment and to whom he has to be delivered.
