Interactive programme with Front Office Functionaries (Retainer Lawyers, PLVs)

Manipur State Legal services Authority organized an online interactive programme with the Front Office Functionaries (Retainer Lawyers, PLVs.) on 25th May 2021 from 1 pm to 3 pm through Jitsi Meet platform.

The programme was chaired by Shri Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary, MASLSA where he interacted and discussed with the Front Office Functionaries on areas of active functioning of legal aid helplines; early access to justice at pre arrest, arrest and remand stage; proper legal aid and legal assistance for vulnerable women and children; challenges faced and suggestions for improvement of the functioning of front offices amidst the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 23 participants that includes Retainer Lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers of the front offices of MASLSA; Imphal West DLSA; Churchandpur DLSA; Chandel DLSA; Senapati DLSA; Thoubal DLSA; Ukhrul DLSA and Bishnupur DLSA participated the programme.

In the said scenario, Legal Services Authorities across the country have started appropriately responding to the legal needs of people by optimizing effective and innovative used of digital as well as electronic media and platform.
