MANGALDAI, May 25: In a continuous drive against the drugs menace under the supervision of SP Sushanta Biswa Sarma, Darrang police nabbed one Wahedur Rahman, son of Suruj Jamal of Niz Nagajan village under Koupati police station on Monday night.

On the basis of a secret information received about the movement of a drug peddler at the Hospital road under Kharupetia Police station, a team of Darrang police conducted an operation and apprehended the peddler Wahedur Rahman and seized twelve numbers of plastic vials containing brown sugar along with a cash amount of Rs 5,000 from his possession. The operation was led by Mamoni Hazarika, DSP (HQ) and assisted by the officer-in-charge and staff of Kharupetia police station. Police has started further investigation.
