NOIDA-GHAZIABAD: Fortis and Felix hospitals in Noida have tied up with over half a dozen sector RWAs and high rises including Cherry County, Cleo County, Supertech Cape Town, Jaypee Greens, Mahagun Moderne, Gaur Atulyam, Gaur City, Logix Blossom County etc all through May and the first week of June for a vaccination drive at residential sectors and apartment complexes of over 800 residents for which a sum of Rs 1050 will be charged.
In Noida, while the vaccination camps by
Fortis hospital sector 62 Noida will begin from Cherry County and Jaypee Greens on Wednesday where more than 800 residents have registered from both societies, the drive will be held at Aravali apartments sector 34 on Thursday.
However, the
District Development RWA body has objected to the move citing it a ploy by private hospitals to earn at the cost of needy residents.
In
Ghaziabad also, under the
Fed AOA and RWAs have tied up with Fortis Hospital for a vaccination drive in societies which is scheduled to start from June 1. More than 50,000 residents in the city will be vaccinated which will be a paid facility (Rs 1050 per dose per person) and as per plan hospital will organise camps in societies where drive will be carried out.
''Fortis Noida is holding camps in Cherry County, Cleo County, Supertech Cape Town, Jaypee Greens, Mahagun Moderne, Aravali Apartments, Mahagun Mywoods, Gaur Atulyam, Gaur City all through May and the first week of June. People will be vaccinated with Covishield. Presently we are planning to vaccinate about 700 people daily through this drive itself and we are aiming to vaccinate more and more people in the coming days,” said

Dr DK Gupta promoter of Felix Hospital Sector 137 also confirmed around 200 residents per society for the vaccination camp to be held by Felix hospital at ATS Pristine 2 sector 150, Prateek Laurel sector 120, Cleo County sector 121, Prateek Wisteria sector 77, Amrapali Silicon city sector 76, Eldeco Aamantran sector 119, Amrapali Platinum and Gaur Grandeur sector 119, Gulshan Ikebana sector 143, Gulshan Vivante, Paras Tierea and Logix Blossom County sector 137, Apex Athena sector 75, Parsvnath Prestige sector 93 and more.
While Umesh Sharma RWA president sector 122 urged that the sector be included in these camps promising all help and facilities, the District Development Residents Welfare Association (DDRWA) however, have decried the move as a ploy by private hospitals to earn money at the plight of residents. “We object to these camps being held by private hospitals where they are charging huge amounts for a single vaccination shot and demand that the uniform process of vaccination across both government and private hospitals be rescheduled as was in place when the vaccination drive began in the district earlier this year,” said

In Ghaziabad similar drives are planned in a tie up with Fortis hospital sector 62 Noida beginning June 1. “Since getting vaccinated is proving to be a bit difficult especially for the elderly and infirm we decided to take an initiative on our own where residents in high rise buildings could be administered vaccines without much of a fuss and in the process we got in touch with Fortis Hospital in Noida” aid

“We have struck an agreement with the hospital under which it is willing to organise camps in the societies to vaccinate people. It will be a paid facility with a charge of Rs 1050 per person per dose which includes cost of medical assistance” added Kumar.
According to Kumar there are over 30 societies in Ghaziabad which have expressed willingness to participate in the drive and as per rough estimate more than 50,000 people will be vaccinated.
A spokesperson from Fortis hospital said, “The vaccination drive will be started in the first week of June and so far, we have got confirmation form eight societies in Ghaziabad. We have intimated the Noida CMO regarding this drive and are looking forward for more confirmations from societies,” said the spokesperson.
