Bihar CM further requested Tamang to personally look into the matter and facilitate early release of body of late Huda to his family members
PATNA: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday wrote a letter to his Sikkim counterpart Prem Singh Tamang, requesting him to release the body of a Kishanganj resident Covid-19 patient who died at Gangtok on May 24.
“I have been informed that Nurul Huda, son of Md Nazim, resident of Dubanochi village under Pothia block of Kishanganj district (Bihar) died in Gangtok (Sikkim) on May 24 because of Covid-19 related complications. Late Huda’s family members want to bring his body to their native place in Kishanganj for the last rites as per their customs,” Nitish said in his letter addressed to Tamang.
“Kishanganj district administration had already requested Gangtok district administration on May 24 to hand over the body to his relatives. But this request has not been accepted so far. It is essential that the customary rights of the deceased and his family members are respected and they are allowed to perform the last rites as per their customs,” Nitish said in the letter.
Bihar CM further requested Tamang to personally look into the matter and facilitate early release of body of late Huda to his family members.
