Delhi Police personnel went to offices of Twitter India in south Delhi and Gurugram on Monday evening. They served notices in connection with their probe into the controversial 'toolkit' case. A furore erupted on social media and the ripples spread all the way to Twitter's global headquarters in the US. Twitter's global deputy general counsel and VP (legal), Jim Baker has been roped in to take stock of the situation. The US government may also be approached by the company as the situation has rapidly escalated. Twitter had initially tagged some tweets by BJP functionaries as ‘manipulated media’.
