Hyderabad: The Director of Medical Education (DME), Dr K Ramesh Reddy on Tuesday directed the principals, directors and superintendents of teaching hospitals and allied hospitals under the DME to make necessary alternative arrangements in view of the proposed boycott of medical duties by Telangana Junior Doctors Association (TJUDA) and Telangana Senior Residents Doctors Association (TSRDA) from Wednesday.
“The principals, directors and superintendents of hospitals are requested to monitor non-Covid and Covid patient care services in their respective hospitals. They must ensure Covid related services are available to all patients and prepare a new duty roaster. No leaves will be sanctioned to faculty and attendance of junior doctors should be monitored closely,” he said.
The TJUDA and TRSDA members have maintained that they will boycott Covid and non-Covid duties at all teaching hospitals from Tuesday.
The medicos are demanding that the State government release honorarium of 15 per cent hike in their salaries, pending since last year, allocate exclusive hospitals beds for the family members of healthcare workers, ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakh for doctors and Rs. 25 lakh for nurses and supporting staff who died due to Covid, and implementation of 10 per cent incentive for all government healthcare workers in the state.
