PRAYAGRAJ: District authorities have appealed to the managements of private
schools to offer free education to those children who have lost their
parents in the Covid-19 pandemic.

Goswami, held a meeting with the authorities of private schools and emphasized on the fact that many families were facing economic crisis due to the pandemic.
He asked schools’ authorities not to hike the
fees of students, and let them deposit the fees as per their convenience the same way they did last year.
The DM also suggested, “Examination fees should not be charged from the students until exams are not being conducted physically on the school premises.”
Similarly, fees for sports activities, lab facility, library, computer lab and annual function should not be charged from parents.
DM Goswami asked the managements of schools, “If the parents are finding it difficult to deposit the fees of three months in one go, there should be a monthly fee system for their convenience.”
“If any student or their parents are tested positive for Covid-19, and they have told school authorities their inability to submit the fee at that time, the school authorities should cooperate with the parents and plan the next months’ fee structure accordingly,” he said.
Goswami further said, “We have also appealed to the managements of private schools that they should come forward to provide free education to the children who have lost their parents or guardians amid the Covid pandemic.
The DM also appealed to the schools authorities and staff to take up vaccination promptly, and those above 45 years should get vaccinated without delay. He also stressed on holding a special camp for vaccination of teachers.
Besides, the DM also inspected
SRN Hospital and instructed the hospital authorities to ensure proper cleanliness in and around the hospital campus. He also asked to install a sign board on the main route and directed officials to upgrade the medical facilities of the hospital.
