New mobile chiropractor now serving St. Clair, Sanilac counties
Greenwood Township resident Lindsey Bennett said a lot of people think her job as a chiropractor is to just help with back and neck pain, but it’s not.
Chiropractors manipulate the spine to function as it should, allowing the body to thrive at its optimal potential. It’s helping people be their best self, she said.
“Ignite their lives and help them live a better quality of life,” Bennett said.
And she’s helping people do this through her business Ember Chiropractic, a mobile chiropractic service that travels to homes in St. Clair and Sanilac counties.
Bennett, who graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic's Florida campus in March 2020 before working for a Port Huron chiropractor, had the idea to launch the business at the beginning of April.
She wanted to spend more one-on-one time with patients and do something to make their lives easier, especially during COVID-19 when many people were having goods delivered to their homes.

Being a mobile chiropractor allows her patients to have the appointment in the comfort of their home. On nice days she can even set up her table for adjustments outside.
“Right now mobile is where I want to be,” she said.
Bennett is flexible with hours and one of the hardest parts of the business has been figuring out how to budget travel time between homes, so she tries do certain areas certain days.
She said working with a patient starts with intake paperwork she looks over so she has an idea what the person needs. They then do a phone consultation to make sure both people are comfortable before the home visit.
During the first visit she does a full exam, addresses specific complaints and does the first adjustment to improve the body’s function.
Things take time to heal and resolve so the next step is talking about the follow-up visits and how they will progress.
“I reference peeling an onion a lot because you have to see how things go,” Bennett said.
One person who has utilized Bennett’s services is friend Brianna Swantek from Columbus Township.
“I thought it was such an amazing idea to have a traveling chiropractor that could come to your home,” she said in a written message.
Swantek had never been to a chiropractor before and was nervous for her first appointment. But she trusted Bennett knew she needed more than massages or ice for her constant neck pain.
“Lindsey was able to adjust me for the first time and relieve the pain I have been feeling for years,” Swantek said.
Bennett's own experience with the field began when she was a kid. Her mom took her and her brother to a chiropractor.
Her mom went to the chiropractor for pain, but Bennett went for respiratory issues and her brother for stomach issues.
Bennett didn’t realize how much the respiratory issues were affecting her until they were gone.
“It’s the body that does it all on its own,” she said.
