How to Change the Text to Speech Voice on TikTok
TikTok has changed the text-to-speech voice following a lawsuit from the original voice actor—and users are making the most of the opportunity by pranking their followers.
The original voice used in the text-to-speech belonged to voice actor Bev Standing, who recently sued TikTok for using her voice without her permission.
Now, TikTok users using the text-to-speech function will hear a different woman's voice—and they're not all fans of the change. The new voice has been compared to the voice of the Grammarly commercials and Barbie, and TikTok users say she has a Valley Girl accent.

However, many TikTok users have made the most of the change by pretending that their text-to-speech voice has been modified to something else entirely.
TikTok user @sadradgirl made a video with a Nicki Minaj voice, making the rapper say: "Bestie... why is my f****** text-to-speech miss Nicki? I have no idea how to change it hahaha what the hell is happening why won't it change back to normal?"
The voice then reads out lyrics from "Bang Bang" by Minaj, Ariana Grande, and Jessie J: "If they test me they sorry, pull up in this Ferrari," before adding, "Anyway sis, I'm confused as f***."

Unfortunately, @sadradgirl was simply pranking her viewers, and TikTok has not changed the voice to sound like the rapper. So how did the TikTok user change her voiceover to Nicki Minaj?
How to change the text-to-speech voice on TikTok
TikTok users are changing the text-to-speech voice using software called Uberduck.ai.
Uberduck.ai allows users to type in the text they want to use before selecting one of the dozens of character voices.
Sadly, they've removed Nicki Minaj's voice, but there are still plenty of options ranging from rappers like Jay-Z and Kanye West to characters like Shrek and SpongeBob SquarePants.
To change the TikTok voice to a fun character, first, head to Uberduck.ai on your phone and sign into Discord. You will need to create a Discord account if you do not already have one.
Select the voice of your chosen character—there are plenty of options from TV shows such as The Simpsons, South Park, and more.
Simply select your chosen character and then enter your text in the box below and press "synthesize."
Screen record the character speaking and upload the video to TikTok privately. Once the video has been uploaded, select the video's sound and film a new video using this sound.
Add the aforementioned text to the new video as you would normally and it will appear as though a character is reading it out rather than the default voice.
