Thane, May 25 (UNI) Jai Jeet Singh on Tuesday took over as the new commissioner of police at the Thane Police Commissionerate.
The 1990-batch IPS officer was until recently the chief of Anti-Terrorism Squad in Maharashtra.
He was transferred to ATS in October last year from Anti-Corruption Bureau, where he was the chief.
Mr Singh has replaced Vivek Phansalkar, who was recently promoted and transferred to Police Housing and Welfare as the chief.
He was welcomed by acting commissioner, Suresh Mekla, at the commissionerate here this evening.
