After Meghan Markle and Prince Harry showed support for India by setting up a fundraiser for COVID-19 relief efforts in the country, Kate Middleton and Prince William too came together yesterday with Scotland-based Sikh family support charity, Sikh Sanjog, to help the group prepare hot curry meals for disadvantaged communities in Edinburgh. In case you missed it, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are currently on a royal visit to Scotland, and the meeting with Sikh Sanjog saw the duo being guided by women from the organisation to whip up chapatis and curry at the kitchen in the Palace of Holyroodhouse, the Queen's royal residence in Edinburgh.
Snippets from the royal couple's Indian cooking session were also shared on their official social media channels, and the Instagram post above showed both Kate and William enjoying the cooking process and interacting with the members of the community while trying their hands at turning out perfectly round rotis. When it came to seasoning the curry, Middleton revealed that she does enjoy curries at home from time to time, saying “Yes, I love it.” To which the Duke added, “She likes a bit of spice” while also revealing that he himself is “not too good with spice.”
Sikh Sanjog—which was set up in 1989 to support Sikh women settling in Edinburgh—responded to @KensingtonRoyal's tweet with a message of gratitude: "The children and staff really enjoyed your company. We hope you gained a good understanding of why our services for women and young people are so vital, especially in challenging times.”
