Mancherial: Deputy Commissioner of Police D Uday Kumar Reddy showed his human side when he arranged a police vehicle to transport a new mother and her husband to Dandepalli on Tuesday.
Uday Kumar was overseeing the implementation of the lock at the district headquarters when he noticed Gudikandula Bhagyalaxmi and Satish visiting a hospital in the city and struggling to return to their homeland as no transport facility after 10 : 00 was not available. He provided a police vehicle and sent it home.
Bagyalaxmi and Satish told reporters that they were stranded in the city but that they were relieved when they were transported by the DCP. They thanked Uday Kumar Reddy.
Meanwhile, police urged the public to complete their work, including medical-related, before 10am and extend their co-operation to the administration that applied the lock-up. They advised the citizens to contact policemen in case of emergency.
