THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two fishermen were reportedly missing as three fishing boats set off from Poonthura capsized off Vizhinjam coast here on Tuesday night. The fishermen in two boats could be rescued however two fishermen in one of the boats were reported missing. Coastal police said that rescue mission was on. The boats had set off from Poonthura around evening and were caught in strong waves. The boats then headed towards Vizhinjam harbour and capsized in strong waves. Thiruvananthapuram was lashed by heavy showers on Tuesday and occasional gusty wind was also reported in a few places. The fishermen had been forced to stay off sea due to rough weather for the last few days. Jose, one of the boat owners said that they were expecting more boats to arrive at Vizhinjam harbour. One of the boats almost arrived near the harbour when it capsized. Three fishermen were brought safely ashore by Coast Guard and they have been taken to hospital, he said.
