Few people are staying home and are using medical kits approved by the health ministry. The common meds suggested by the doctors that test positive for the virus include Doxycycline, Azithromycin, Azithral etc. Now the medical experts are saying that none of these drugs is effective or proven to be effective in treating COVID-19 patients.

Doctors say that the meds suggested for the treatment of COVID-19 patients are nothing but antibiotics, antiparasitic or vitamins that only help in symptomatic treatment and are not proven to completely cure the disease. The World health Organisation released a handbook titled ‘Drugs to prevent COVID-19’ in which it said “Current use of drugs to prevent COVID-19 is variable, reflecting large-scale uncertainty. Numerous randomised trials of many different drugs are underway to inform practice.”

As the disease is new to the medical and public health experts, doctors are still looking and experimenting with the meds to treat COVID-19. Madhu Pai, a professor and canada Research Chair of Epidemiology and Global health at McGill university in Montreal, says that drugs such as Ivermectin, Azithromycin, Baricitinib, Bevacizumab, Doxycycline, Favipiravir, Fluvoxamine, Hydroxychloroquine, Itolizumab, Interferon alpha-2b, 2-DG are not proven and not routinely advised for COVID-19.
