Money Heist Season 5: Everything you need to know about the Netflix show's teaser, release date, cast and more

The cultish crime drama is officially set to return to our screens for a final season. Here's your complete lowdown on what to expect

Money Heist Season 5 on Netflix

The penultimate season of viral Spanish crime thriller series La Casa De Papel or Money Heist left viewers with a major cliffhanger—Raquel was united with The Gang, and Inspector Alicia unearthed the Professor's hideout spot. To aid some of our misery, Netflix has finally dropped an action-packed teaser for the final instalment—set to air in two parts of five episodes each—along with a release date. Volume 1 of Money Heist Season 5 is set to premiere on September 3, 2021, and Volume 2 on December 3, 2021.

Creator Alex Pina explained the decision to divide the final outing, saying, "When we began to write Part 5 in the midst of the pandemic, we felt that we had to change what was expected from the ten-episode season and used every tool we could to create the sensation of a season finale or series finale in the first volume itself. We decided to work in an extremely aggressive genre, putting The Gang on the ropes. In Volume 2, we focus more on the emotional situation of the characters. It is a journey across their sentimental map that connects us directly to their departure.”

Going by the teaser, viewers can expect many power-packed, intense moments for the Dali-faced robbers—along with some great music. The instalment will also feature the original cast of the show, with Ursula Corbero returning as Tokyo, Alvaro Morte as The Professor, Itziar Ituño as Raquel, Miguel Herrán as Rio, Jaime Lorente as Denver, Esther Acebo as Mónica Gaztambide, Darko Peric as Helsinki, and Enrique Arce as Arturo.
